HOLLOWED-OUT TV TO BE
PLACED ON ONE'S HEAD (or TV-Head)

In the spring of 2005, I found an old television
discarded behind
a university building. It did not work properly, but was in otherwise
good physical shape.
The visual image of a television or computer monitor in place of
someone's head has been in the media for a long time, but finally,
I could participate in this strange practice.
The insides were hollowed out, and a piece of sheet
metal is the
"face." Flexible magnets serve as the eyes and mouth. (Don't do this
unless
you know what you are doing. Touching the wrong part of a TV's insides
can stop your heart, possibly leading to death.)

Wearing the TV can be a disorienting experience, because it blocks your
eyesight.
Anyone who dons the TV-Head becomes awkward and reliant on others for
direction.

It has since appeared in many videos and still images,
including the background
for this website's index page.
